Bio

Hannah Panov is a Canadian filmmaker, writer, projectionist, and digital performance artist based between Toronto and Los Angeles. Their artistic practice focuses on reshaping notions of taste through aesthetics of camp and mysticism and attempts to revive work for underrepresented audiences who have been outcast from the mainstream media canon.

Hannah’s work has been screened internationally at festivals including the Toronto International Film Festival’s Young Filmmakers Showcase. Their most recent piece, Bitches Kill Bitches, had its world premiere at Fantasia International Film Festival and is in the process of submission for other festivals.

Their previous work includes #AlwaysInOurHeartsZaynMalik and Can U Love Me Like Ur Robot GF?, which both screened at the San Diego Underground Film Festival and gained online attention with audiences through YouTube and Tik Tok. Their commitment to the digital manifests itself in QR-coded films and building distinct online personas in an attempt to both examine and empathize with digital communities.

Hannah currently attends California Institute of the Arts in the Program in Film/Video.
